Loud ratting and grinding from under hood by engine. Electrically assisted rack-and-pinion steering is installed. No way this is due to wear and tear. I got a letter from Chevrolet, but there are no active recalls on my ride. Called the dealership and come to find out, there was a recall on it. I get a mechanic to replace the spark plugs and O2 sensor as indicated by code , but no difference in the jerking.
Then about 3 months later, after the warranty expired. I suggest you all do the same. My Brother switched to a Toyota and is happy with it. It is fine when it gets beyond about 40-45 mph. Last straw was yesterday when my transmission quit all together. Had my air conditioner serviced for first time in car and only 73,000 miles.
I believe the car dearler knew that the trans was going out. Not long after that I started it up to leave work and it sounded like a motorcycle! I have spent hundreds of dollars on this one issue and now my back brake drums are warped because if the wheel bearing going out. Vehicle Overview Chevrolet launched a brand-new midsize sport utility vehicle as an early 2005 model. The problem with the jerking in the transmission is the valve body is been a known problem with the Maxima. My warranty conveniently expired two months before the transmission began giving me problems. The car idles very rough at times. The car has 75000 miles on it.
Strictly Japanese vehicles from now on. I wish I would have found this site earlier do not think I would have bought it. Less than 2 weeks later, it did this again as I was slowing down…. Units Affected 6213 It's one thing to hear about the automotive advances being made on university campuses; it's quite another to drive them. Garage kept with all required services completed. They told me this is normal but they would put a silencer on it so as not to hear it! Over the last few months I have noticed some inconsistencies between the transition of the gears while accelerating.
This is the second chevy I have ever owned and this is the second to do this before 80000 miles. I have had a new valve put into my transmission, had a new radio installed because it quit turning off when the drivers door opened, discovered that was a broken wiring harness in the door and now my all wheel drive is not working and the light is on. I bought an Equinox also. Its bad when you drive up and they know you by name what you are there for and the guy with loaners just goes and gets me a vehicle. I think we all need to file a claim against Chevy. I made it across town to my dealership but only barely.
Is your Chevy Equinox bucking and jerking, especially when the air conditioner is on? I have an appt but they are claiming it sounds normal. Technician told my wife that had the engine ceased up that it could have severely injured my family. When equipped with an optional towing package, the Equinox can haul up to 3,500 pounds. I am still paying this one off. Replaced a head gasket that fall.
It had about 68000 miles when I bought it and about 5 months after purchasing I had to replace a solenoid, the water pump, the belt, and some other parts due to a leak that ruined other items. Thankfully we still have an extended warranty. I had the bucking and lunging in drive or reverse. The pump would not kick back on, is this potentially an issue as well? I don't know where you got that. Apparently my powertrain warranty expired this past May although my vehicle only has 68k miles now… I am frustrated and feel like there is nothing I can do although this car, to me, qualifies as a lemon. It has been one problem after another! Turned back on and sounded like it was going to die. I just chalked up to bad gas or something like that.
No one does anything about it. At 97k miles i had to have engines pistons, fuel pump, multiple valves and timing belt replaced. For someone on a fixed income, you go but something you think is reliable and have nothing but problems! Tell me that is fair…personally have had over 65 vehicles have not yet had to replace any trans. We will see what they think. Noticed that the transmission was having difficulty switching gears so I took it in for a transmission fluid change. That being said, I suggest you see if your state has any used car consumer statutes which can come into play.
I just pray it lasts until its paid off. Had to replace my front rotors. How stupid do they think people are, unreal. It is considered to be a fill for life transmission. This is owed to the fact that an incorrect primer was used while installing the windshield, and potentially the side glass as well. Thankfully all of the repairs were covered under various service bulletins and under the 100k 10 year power train warranty.
