Edited January 8, 2016 by kittykat Still funny though. Charlie is still a perennial loser. And Frank is willing to take things up a notch. In season 1 it was teens drinking at the bar and a robbery. I figured the next episodes would show this making Dennis and dee's wannabe victory hospital dance funny but as of yet, no mention. Dennis is still a raging sociopath. I won't spoil them for you, because you just have to experience them.
I liked the updated rules and attempts to curb cheating and the fact that Dennis and Dee still cheat anyway. Charlie says the last thing he remembers is winning the game before Dennis and Dee cut him off and tell him other wise. I would say it was a really boring episode. Hope you all enjoy the episode and thank you for participating! But then I couldn't figure out how Mac wouldn't be there saying something or how they would deal with him in that situation. I felt like tuning off after just a few minutes. Almost like they were too lazy to even come up with a new story line. Using an old gag and no new stuff to the story.
Shows usually want to play it safe when it comes to premiere episodes. It's too big for their concept. However, still a drop off from the original Chardee MacDennis, which is one of my favorite episodes of the whole show. Like I said, not bad, no one's fault, just overdone. The foursome demonstrate Chardee MacDennis for an interested board game executive, but the game sends things into chaos despite the gang's truce. And they made it apparent that this wasn't just the next time they played - it happens often and the game evolves. Meta - Posts regarding the sub-Reddit itself. The episode did a admirable job of making the viewer believe that the game exec was genuine, which then made the twist land safely and hilariously. Mac and Charlie have finally won Chardee Macdennis.
Edited January 9, 2016 by Princess Sparkle and Dennis would do a head in a box as their Love symbols. And many shows that were once great seemed to turn bad towards it's 7th season The Simpsons, The Office. Psyched for the rest of the season. Mac puts Ace and Gary to shame in terms of being ambiguously gay. Well that's clearly a recipe for a beautiful disaster. Thanks again for participating in this discussion.
I was happy to see one of my favorite shows was back on but after watching the first episode. The basement handcuff thing was weird, but I suppose that's why I like the show--it takes it right to the line and then crosses it without hesitation. We also do not take too kindly to reposts or stolen content either, if you have copied and pasted a theory or article from elsewhere, you must make it abundantly clear that the idea belongs to someone else and give full credit. And the idea of a game company being interested - especially when tied to a sequel episode - would have been a bad sign. All funny, but it felt like they were running out of ideas for a couple losers running a bar and getting bigger and more ridiculous.
FanSpeculation - A theory speculating the contents of future works. Which let us know that none of this would succeed even a little bit. It always makes me laugh in the first one. Like, right after the deal was made. We ask for at least 2 paragraphs of writing about your theory and a specific citation from the work. But hey it's hard to live up to that standard. Naturally it could never be as good as the original, probably in part because the first time we had no idea what was coming.
In season 2 they feud with the neighbor and get religious. The episode contains great acting, amazing writing, hilarious call backs, original situations even in after over 100 episodes , and some pretty damn good and out-of-nowhere twists. Dennis and Dee could have talked normally, but no. And if there's one thing this episode proves, it's that It's Always Sunny hasn't lost it's stride, even after 11 years. The return of Chardee MacDennis? Doing what you know best usually creates a good final product. This didn't beat the original Chardee McDennis episode, but it's amazing how this is still so sharp after 11 years.
With the Gang all agreeing to temporarily keep their emotions in check for the sake of a potentially lucrative demonstration? From the early days of television Twilight Zone, I Love Lucy to modern classics Breaking Bad, Arrested Development , it seems like all great shows stop before reaching their 8th season.
