The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 175,000 and the current mileage was 180,000. The dealer was not contacted and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Got to where I needed to be and turned the car off and immediately it would not start. On some vehicles the red brake light will come on too. The contact mentioned that it took several attempts to remove the key from the ignition.
It slowly comes back, but reads incorrectly for a few miles. Sometimes as many as 3 times on a six mile round trip. As I drove along the highway, the dashlights blinked and then stayed on. I do not recommend buying a chevy trailblazer or for that matter a chevy ,they have not been very responsive to their loyal customers. It takes them 2 weeks to fix the problem!! The failure mileage was 81,000. I travel alone most of the time and with the uncertainty of the gas, it is always a frightening experience. It can't be fixed by a non-gm service center because gm has to reprogram the electrical system once it is fixed so it would then have to be towed to a gm dealer anyway and would cost even more. And the last thing is that the fuel gauge fluctuates dramatically and you can never tell how much fuel you really have. So now the check engine light is on. The vehicle was not repaired. I am the original owner of the car and this started happening about a couple of years ago as the winter approaches. If the blower isn't working, you probably need to get a new blower motor resistor for manual controls or blower motor module looks the same for automatic climate control. Vehicle then taken to repair shop. Chevrelot trailblazer have known this problem for awhile has done nothing about it.
