I got the rear sliding doors open by climbing in the back and pulling the tab up. Computer malfunction is the cause. Some have said the problem is in the body control module but I belive it's a bad connection somewhere. That stout little guy who came to the table in the early 1970s after he showed us how to really build a motorcycle. Key cylinder-to-bell crank links were responsible for sliding doors opening during collision in the 2001 safety tests. After reading on-line I have read how common this is. In both vans the sliding doors, normally the drivers side, reacted teh same way.
Thanks for your support, where dealers fail miserably. I am really hoping there is some way they make a recall on this problem. The only way to enter the vehicle was to unlock the doors manually. But over time, with age and repetitive bending, it will break. Also, when I try and hit the rear door button on the overhead console, when the rear doors are locked they still will not work.

I have the child locks on but if they malfunction as well or she is outside of the car and manages to open the door when they should be locked she could get her fingers stuck in the heavy door. And cranked the vehicle up the key seem to turn farther than normal but it cranked up okey,so I shut it back off took the key out and the motor ran another 3 -5 sec. The lights flashed and the horn sounded, but the doors did not lock. The safety issue is that in the event of an accident, the driver cannot unlock the passengers' doors. If their was an accident or fire it would be very hard to get my child out of the back seat. But then again you stop try to lock the doors hear the horn beep as if the locks set but they do not. All advice will be greatly appreciated.
